Te Arikinui Pullman Hotel
AIAL and Tainui Group Holdings

Auckland International Airport Limited (AIAL) ushered in a new era with the opening of Te Arikinui Pullman Hotel in 2023. The joint venture with Tainui Group Holdings seamlessly blends Māori cultural elements with the contemporary luxury and sophistication of the Pullman brand.
As part of their 30-year masterplan, AIAL had identified the need for an additional hotel to meet growing demands of customers. Accor Hotel’s ‘Pullman’ brand was selected by Auckland Airport and Tainui Group Holdings for the new 311 room and 5-star hotel that is located adjacent to Auckland Airport’s international terminal.
Architects Warren and Mahoney designed the hotel to complement their previous work on the Novotel Auckland Airport hotel, which sits some 100 metres to the east of Te Arikinui Pullman. Both hotels are shaped by the design theme of ‘Sea to Sky’ – inspired by the journey of the people of Tainui, and their arrival by waka at Manukau Harbour around 1350.
TSA Riley provided project and design management services, including Engineer to the Contract, project planning and procurement, construction, contract, cost and operational and handover management from the project’s concept in early 2016.
