ProjectMatāruahou (Napier Hill) Reservoir
TSA Riley is project managing the delivery of the design and construction of a new 27,500m3 water reservoir complex for Napier City Council. It is a critical and integral part of Napier City’s water supply network. The existing reservoir, constructed in c1938, was not designed or configured to meet current standards or enable the appropriate water quality and safety management and is at the end of its useful life. In its place, three 9,150m3 tanks are planned to replace the ageing infrastructure to cater for future population growth.
This project has offered a unique opportunity for collaborative design with local mana whenua. As it is situated at the historically and culturally important site of Matāruahou, it presents an ideal setting to honour and share its rich history. This approach underlines our commitment to respecting and integrating the history and culture of the local iwi into our project, creating a functional and meaningful space.
