TSA Riley provided project management, employer’s agent and cost consultancy for this project.
The development saw the construction of a new Extra Care scheme comprising 66 one and two-bedroom apartments with associated communal facilities including; lounge, nostalgia room, indoor potting shed, hair salon, laundry and a café/bistro open to the local community.
There was a particular focus on the adoption of dementia friendly design: High ceilings, post office, nostalgia room, glazed kitchen units, a more open plan apartment layout and careful consideration to all aspects of the interior design.
The building was constructed traditionally with a mix of feature brick panels and render to the external walls, and a low pitch profiled aluminium roof and concealed gutters.
Boston Flood Defence
Provision of flood defences to the town of Boston in Lincolnshire, involving the installation of sea defences, a new flood gate and refurbishment of a new lock gate to the Port of Boston. The Boston Barrier Scheme is working to provide better protection from tidal flooding to over 14,000 homes and businesses in the town of Boston. The first phase of construction was completed in December 2020, two years after construction on the project began.
We have provided both delay support and commercial and contractual support. We have also provided specialist planning functions to cost load an existing construction programme in P6.
Connect Plus M25
Our client, Connect Plus, works on behalf of the National Highways to manage and operate the M25 and deliver safer, more reliable journeys. It has the 30-year DBFO concession for one of the busiest networks in Europe.
We provide the commercial team to Connect Plus, which is the operations and maintenance agent on behalf of Highways England. We provide contractual and commercial support, including procurement and contract closeout, for various capital, maintenance, and reactive contracts. Our staff have a pivotal role within Connect Plus and have been fully embedded into the wider team, many of them having worked there for over 10 years.
HS2 Bat Structure
HS2 is a landmark rail project with an impact that will be obvious for generations. It is believed that the additional capacity provided will accommodate passenger numbers rising to pre-COVID-19 levels while driving a further modal shift to rail helping reduce carbon emissions.
Our involvement was with the erection of a 2km encasement structure to the high-speed rail line to protect endangered bats and minimise the train’s effect on their colonies. We provided commercial and planning support to the contractor’s change team.
