InsightLocal Roots, Positive Impact: TSA in the Northern Rivers
With over 20 TSA people currently working in the NSW Northern Rivers, we decided to cement our local presence with an office in Ballina. Located on Tamar Street, the office will be home to TSA’s new Northern Rivers Lead, Emma Viljoen.
Emma will support our locally based staff and focus on further growing TSA’s Northern Rivers presence. Our Northern NSW General Manager, Glenn Thornton, will continue providing executive leadership to our Northern Rivers team. He will support Emma in building our existing client relationships and engagements and our support for the ‘Northern Rivers Reconstruction’.
TSA has been active in the Northern Rivers region since 2017, through our team’s initial involvement in the planning phase for the Tweed Valley Hospital Redevelopment. We are now part of the integrated project team delivering this critical public infrastructure project, working to ensure the hospital is ready for patients in the near future. As well as providing state-of-the-art health facilities closer to home, the hospital will provide an embedded learning, development and research facility and a contemporary working environment to help attract and retain staff.

Our people are also working with BaptistCare to deliver a local aged care project and were engaged to assist the Catholic Diocese of Lismore in developing the strategic asset management plan for 45 local schools.
Driven by his desire to make a difference, Mitchell Beattie is just one of TSA’s people who has recently made the Northern Rivers home. Working on the recovery of schools in the region, Mitch has gained a deeper appreciation for the role of project management in positively impacting local communities. He describes the area’s scenic beauty and the chance to help locals recover from tough times as irresistible draws.
With significant government funding committed to helping Northern Rivers communities ‘build back better’ and prepare for future disasters, TSA looks forward to providing specialist skills and resources to industry to support local projects. Important public infrastructure projects are ingrained in our business DNA, enabling us to have a positive impact on the communities in which we work. We understand how critical these projects are to regional communities for creating jobs, upskilling local talent, and providing economic benefits for future generations.
