InsightAward Wins – TSA in the spotlight.
This year has been phenomenal, and TSA is honoured and proud that our people’s hard work and dedication across Aotearoa New Zealand, has been recognised by the industry.
In the second half of 2022, three project teams were recognised with awards – Auckland City Mission’s (Te Tāpui Atawhai) HomeGround, Hotel Britomart, and Cuba Street Refurbishment.

Auckland City Mission (Te Tāpui Atawhai) – HomeGround
Auckland City Mission’s transformational HomeGround project opened its doors in February this year, after 11 years in the making. Since opening to assist Auckland’s most vulnerable, the project has won various accolades, including the coveted Supreme Award at this year’s Property Council New Zealand Rider Levett Bucknall Property Industry Awards. The project won against 69 nominees, with the judges applauding how HomeGround delivers on the needs of multi-purpose users with exceptional results.
TSA team members Laith Tawfeeq, Andrew McDonald, and David Wilkie provided project management and Engineer to Contract services during the project.

Auckland Property People Awards – November 2022
Cooper and Company’s Hotel Britomart Team won the Barker & Associates Best Team Award in November at the Auckland Property People Awards. The Judges praised the project team for their cohesive working relationship and successful re-invention of this prominent Britomart site.
TSA’s Gemma Wilson provided the role of Project Manager on the project, which is also New Zealand’s first certified 5 Green Star Hotel.
Wellington Property People Awards – November 2022
TSA had two finalists in the Wellington Property People Awards this year, Cuba Street Refurbishment and Mayfair House Refurbishment.
Congratulations went to our Cuba Street Refurbishment team, who won the Colliers Best Team Award. TSA’s John Pengelly was engaged as Engineer to Contract and Vanessa Source as Project Manager for the modern and vibrant refurbishment – one of Wellington’s largest open plan areas.
The Judges praised the team for their cohesive working relationship and the successful reinvigoration of the iconic landmark. The team went above and beyond, achieving excellence through innovation, clever and sustainable design, and exceptional project management, coming in on time and within budget.
Wellington Property People Awards – Sponsors – TSA Management Excellence in Sustainability Award – November 2022
We were also proud sponsors of the TSA Management Excellence in Sustainability Award, which John Pengelly presented. Congratulations went to Stride Property Group, Beca, and Catalyst Group for 22 The Terrace. The award recognised the team for significantly decarbonising and improving the performance of the existing Qual IT House. The team proved that sustainability does not have to come with a hefty price tag.
