ProjectWokefield Estate Extension
This project comprised the rebuild of a 95-bedroom extension following damage from a fire.
The project adopted a light gauge steel frame / volumetric modular form of construction in order to rebuild as quickly as possible. Modular was adopted for all areas including bedrooms, bathrooms, corridors, stairs, plant and ancillary areas. All fixtures, fittings and equipment were incorporated within the bedroom / bathroom modules prior to site delivery including case goods, beds and artwork.
The construction period was seven months and comprised wider remedial works, often intrusive and involving M&E shutdowns to the rest of the ‘live’ hotel.
TSA Riley acted as the employer’s agent, providing cost management advice. We acted as principal designer and had direct liaison, reporting to the loss adjuster.
