ProjectThe Gordon TAFE and Tech School
The Geelong Tech School and Gordon TAFE rejuvenation is an AUD $20 million joint venture between the Gordon TAFE and Department of Education and Training to provide a new technical school as part of the wider statewide rollout. Works were also undertaken to improve the existing buildings (mainly around the Library, Key Student Services, Entry and Façade) of the current multi-level Gordon TAFE site in Geelong.
TSA Riley started with the preparation of a project management plan outlining the objectives and outcomes. This included design management, stakeholder management, scope management, change control and the coordination of all reporting and inputs from the wider team. TSA Riley also developed a package of works and procurement strategy for builders to satisfy the project objectives. During construction, the team provided contract administration and acted in the role of superintendent.
All demolition and building works were managed within a live environment. This required careful planning and coordination with key stakeholders and contractors to minimise the impact on students and staff.
