ProjectTaurama Aquatic Centre and Indoor Sports Complex
TSA Riley managed a global project team to design and deliver a world-class facility that met the requirements of international competition standards while also meeting the needs of the local community. Collaboration and teamwork were crucial to the success of the development for the XVth Pacific Games.
During planning each member of the core design team was partnered with a local, PNG based, consultancy to ensure that local regulations and requirements were satisfied. The design was fast tracked and adapted to suit local building methods and constraints.
The build was undertaken using local contractors, many of whom had never worked on a development of this size and complexity. We worked closely with the local contractors, upskilling their teams on new building methods and materials previously unfamiliar in the PNG market.
