ProjectBruce Highway Upgrades, Business Case Development, QLD
The Bruce Highway Upgrade Program is the largest road infrastructure program Queensland has ever seen. TSA Riley was engaged to assist Building Queensland with the development of three business cases for upgrades to sections of the Bruce Highway, across 3 projects:
- Cairns Southern Access Corridor, Stage 3: Edmonton to Gordonvale (E2G) ($481 million) – duplication of 10 kilometres of the existing Bruce Highway near Cairns, incorporating an existing, four lane section and the relocation of an existing rail line.
- Cairns Southern Access Corridor, Stage 4: Kate Street to Aumuller Street (K2A) ($135 million) – upgrade of the highway, with additional lanes constructed to widen the highway from four to six lanes.
- Maroochydore Road Interchange Upgrade Project (BHMIP) ($300 million) – upgrade of the interchange to include a new, four lane, eastbound bridge over the Bruce Highway, traffic signals at the nearby roundabout, provision of service roads and relocation of an off ramp.
TSA Riley developed project documentation and managed six consulting firms for business case inputs and technical reports. The project required extensive interfacing with Queensland Government department stakeholders and Building Queensland group director and executives. The final business cases were successfully delivered and endorsed on time and have since commenced delivery.
